Mental healthAfter everything else blogging is just healthy for you!!

What better way can you find to start clearing out your thoughts and frustrations then to share them with people who understand you?

Blogs have been used for all types of purposes; personal journals, personal expressions, business, marketing, information and there are other purposes. Blogs have become more and more interesting and therefore producing a large readership of people who are as interested in the same specific topic as the writer.

People are looking for advice and information on specific topics everyday. Hundreds of thousands of people use search engines like Google to find that information and advice. And blogs are typically at the top of their search results.

Sure some people aren’t all that interested in sharing their personal life with complete strangers from all across the globe. And that’s fine, there are ways to keep others from finding and reading your blog. But the chances are, there is someone out there who will have experienced the same experiences as you, who those who could benefit from a past experience you shared on your blog.

My theory is that most people try to avoid conflict with others. They try to avoid hurting someone else at the cost of locking their thoughts and there feelings into a small room with no windows, no doors, and no vents. What happens, these thoughts and feelings begin to bounce around the room reflecting on the events or actions that caused them, until they explode, and usually at the cost of someone who is completely innocent. Tied into this theory is obesity and the rise of anger (mainly in adolescents). We know how kids treat kids, mainly in junior high and throughout high school, bulling is a huge problem that creates these types of issues for adolescents today.

VENTING; people say that a psychologist is necessary to help people work through their issues. (and in some instances I agree, but there are some that can be vented in other ways) Why not find a hobby like blogging, creatively tell the story of your frustration, getting it off your chest and build a community of support at the same time. You don’t like to write, or maybe you cant type very fast, well start a podcast, where you tell your stories in audio format that can be downloaded to ipods and mp3 players.

Sometimes it is hard to open up to the people around you. Kids to parents is particularly a hard case, kids don’t want to get in trouble or disappoint their parents. So they blog, they establish relationships in their blogging community with other kids that are struggling.

In business we see similar situations, the need to express a new company policy or address issues that multiple customers are experiencing. Yeah, you can try to avoid them, but they wont go away. Some people struggle with customer service, afraid of the conflict or argument, so they avoid the issue while it builds and builds until you start to lose customers and your business fails. Blogging does not eliminate customer service, but for a company it could provide a way to lessen the fear of conflict by addressing an issue in a public yet official manner.

There is no reason to stay confined to your thoughts and feelings of frustration when there are ways to VENT and express yourself, that are HEALTHY!
