With our business we can be sure that our blogs are used to ensure our customers that we understand them, and we are listing to them.

I saw this commercial a couple of weeks ago, and I saved it to my DVR. I have watched it several times and it has become my favorite commercial, mostly because I think it is hilarious, but last night I saw the commercial again and it was like a light bulb turned on.

It is a MasterCard commercial which has nothing to do with my ‘light bulb’ but at the end of the commercial it says “being with people who understand you, priceless.” We all need people in our lives who understand us, socially, professionally, personally, and sometimes physically.

Our closest friends understand us, we don’t usually have to explain our actions or the things we say to our closest friends, because they “get us”, they know us well enough to understand why we do or say the things we do.

In an intimate relationship we are often finishing our significant others sentences or perceiving their thoughts, knowing what they want or need before they ask.

Socially we associate with people who enjoy the same activities or events. We know that we can discuss any topic openly and those we socialize with, will join the conversation and enjoy the path it takes. There will be debating and arguing, but there wont be any miss understandings. You are with the people who understand you!

Professionally, if you are a business owner you hire the people who are willing to understand your philosophy’s and who are willing to understand the how and why of your business methods. When they understand you and you them, your will find a strong communication and a top notch working environment.

What ever the upfront cost of finding and building those relationships it is worth it! When we are with the people who understand us, we are secure, generally the most happy and usually the most affective.

So how can we tie this into blogging, and how do we find the people who understand us?

Blogging opens the doors for us to communicate with people who understand us on a global level. Believe it or not there are people out there who have a similar opinion on specific topics, there are people who have been were you have been and who are going where you are going. These people will begin to communicate with you, as they read your blog they will realize that you understand them and a relationship will begin. \

Finding these people starts by searching topics that you are passionate about and reading other blogs, looking for that understanding. Then you start to comment, expressing your opinion and acknowledging that you understand them. Use you blog to discuss the same topics and invite your new friends to join your conversations.
